Millennials are a notoriously difficult group to market to, and this continues to be true even during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, millennials make up one of the largest currently living, which also makes them the largest potential customer base. Below are some great tips to attract and keep millennial customers.

Advertise on Social Media

Millennials spend much of their time using social media. This is why putting advertisements on social media websites is one of the best ways to catch a millennial’s attention. As of 2020, some of the most popular social media sites include Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Depending on what social media sites your business has profiles uses, you should post a certain amount of times a day. For example, on a site like Facebook, you only need to post about once a day. However, it’s important to most several times a day on Twitter.

On many social media sites, including all of the ones already mentioned, have the option of choosing between paid and free advertisements. With paid advertisements, a business owner can pay the social media site to display their ad on a certain number of people’s feeds. However, free ads would need to be “shared” to be shown outside of the business’s personal page.

Ask Questions

According to the economist blogger Eyal Gutentag, another great way to get to millennials is to ask them questions. As simple as it seems, asking people what they want is the best way to get an answer. There are several ways to go about this. One way is for business owners to create and share surveys. Make sure to share the surveys via social media or email newsletters to get as many people to take the survey as possible.

Another way to get people to answer questions is for business owners to make interactive social media posts. These posts can be made up entirely or text, have pictures, or videos. Of course, it should be noted that posts with videos or pictures tend to get more attention than plain-text posts. Either way, these posts should ask a question for potential customers to answer. So, this can work to get more interaction on social media posts and get questions answered by real potential customers.

Follow one of the above tips to improve your marketing strategies when it comes to reaching out to millennials. Even better, try them both to get the best results.
